Background checked
Required before a coach works with any TeenSide client.
Not because you're not trying. Because some things are easier to say to someone who isn't their parent. TeenSide gives them that person, a trained coach, 21–29, who's recently lived what your teen is living right now.

What parents notice
You're not imagining it. And you're not alone. These are the everyday moments coaching helps a teen work through.
“You ask how their day was. They say 'fine.' That's the whole conversation.”
It's not that they have nothing to say. It's that they don't think you'll understand, or they're protecting you. A coach who's 24 doesn't carry that weight.
“They're anxious all the time and you don't know where it's coming from.”
Anxiety in teens rarely announces itself clearly. It shows up as irritability, avoidance, exhaustion, or checking out. Coaches are trained to name what's underneath it.
“You've suggested therapy. They shut it down immediately.”
Teens often resist therapy because of the stigma or the clinical feel. This isn't therapy, it's coaching. Different framing, different energy. Most teens engage when they understand the difference.
“They're handling the pressure of school, social life, and the internet at the same time.”
No generation has ever had to deal with all three at this intensity simultaneously. Your teen isn't weak, they're overwhelmed. And they need practical tools, not just a listening ear.

Why it works
Every TeenSide coach is between 21–29. They graduated recently. They remember the exact pressure your teen is under, the group chat anxiety, the college decision paralysis, the feeling that everyone else has it figured out.
That proximity creates trust. And trust is what makes coaching actually work. Your teen doesn't need someone to tell them what to do. They need someone who remembers what it actually felt like, and can guide them through it without judgment, lectures, or the weight of being their parent.
Real skills. Not just support.
TeenSide isn't just a place to vent. Every session teaches tools that aren't covered in school, and that most adults wish someone had taught them earlier.
Learning to recognize the patterns of thinking that drive anxiety, avoidance, and self-doubt, before they spiral.
Concrete techniques to manage big emotions without shutting down, lashing out, or disappearing into a screen.
Understanding what a boundary actually is, and how to set one with friends, family, and online relationships without guilt.
Moving from reactive choices to intentional ones, a skill that compounds over a lifetime.
How to express what they actually feel, navigate conflict without explosions, and ask for what they need.
Not the generic "believe in yourself" kind. The kind built through small wins, honest reflection, and being truly seen.

How it works
Choose a coach, pick the package that fits, and give the relationship room to work.
Browse our directory and choose a coach who feels like a good fit for your teen's personality and what they're going through. Every coach is trained, certified, and background-checked. If the first pick isn't right, your teen can try someone else.
Browse coachesPick the package that fits your timeline and budget, starting at a single session to try it out, up to 12 sessions for a full coaching arc. After purchase, you'll schedule directly with your coach through the app.
A parent can choose to meet the coach during the first session and request future sessions. After that, your teen has their own dedicated space — with an optional parent check-in available after session 6.

“I spent two years trying to get my son to open up. His coach got there in three sessions. I wasn't offended, I was relieved. That's what this is for.”
